Roger Dale Griffin departed this life peacefully on April 7, 2012 in the loving arms of his family at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Roger was born January 3, 1945 in Batesville, Mississippi to William and Susie Griffin. He loved woodworking and playing the drums. He was a black belt in karate and taught for many years in Helena. He retired from the Kroger Company from which he worked for many years.

He is survived by his wife Linda Dacus Griffin of Walcott, Arkansas, one daughter, Christy Griffin Brown of Olive Branch, Mississippi, five sisters, Sarah Worley of Russellville, Arkansas, Pat Clark (Romey) of Helena, Arkansas, Myrna Pruitt of South Haven, Mississippi, Shirley Burk of Ecru, Mississippi, Linda Webb (Jerry) of Light, Arkansas, two brothers Albert Griffin of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Howard Griffin(Evelyn) of Helena, Arkansas, one grand dog Chloc and his loving companion Shine. He was also survived by a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Walcott Baptist Church with Marion Cornett and Sam Stewart officiating, burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M Monday at the Walcott Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Edwards, Barry Burke, John Griffin, Richard Newberry, Keith Smith, Jim Stewart, J.H. Burton and Harvey Potter.
