Joe Wayne Linam

Joe Wayne Linam, 64, of Paragould, died Sunday, February 24, 2013, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.

He was born September 14, 1948, in Jonesboro, to the late Wayne and Lowanda Linam. Joe was formerly a salesman for Delta Business Services and a member of East Side Baptist Church where he had been a Sunday School teacher and choir member.

Joe was a member of the Greene County Fine Arts Council having served as a board member and a past president. He performed in many of the G.C.F.A.C. productions. For many years Joe enjoyed playing Santa for the Paragould Christmas parade, the Greene County Chamber of Commerce and other organizations. He was past president of the Paragould Band Boosters and an avid Red Wolves fan.

Survivors include his wife, Paulette C. Linam of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tina Linam; and one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Dr. Aaron Thompson, all of Paragould. He is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Steve Holden of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Shelby and Molly Linam, Halli, Emmi, and Aaden Thompson; and many friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 27th, at East Side Baptist Church with Jeff Dial, Dennis Scudder and Jason Noel officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home.

Tim McGowan, Keith Hutchison, Ray Allen Noel, Matt McGowan, Trey Cook and Charles Nelson will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials to East Side Baptist Church would be appreciated.
